Today is/was flag day. Flag day is a far cry from what we did in scouts for charity.
On flag day, you carry a tin with a few pages of stickers and ask pedestrians to donate money. What do you do? Stick out your tin to a random passerby and smile. However, if you were in scouts, you go to each and every house asking if they need help in cleaning/moving/scratching back.
Flag day: You travel to a specified location allocated to you.
Scouts: You travel anywhere in Singapore and search for your own oppurtunities.
Flag day: You scout for random pedestrians'.
Scouts: You knock at every door asking anyone in need of assistance.
Flag day: Your donor becomes victim to your relentless adjure.
Scouts: You become victim to your donater's relentless requests.
Flag day: The victim donates money with little effort done(by you).
Scouts: You do a truck load of work and get little money.
Gee, you must be thinking, "OF COURSE! THATS WHAT MAKES FLAG DAY BETTER." However, I feel much more accomplished cleaning houses than to stick out my tin and smile. And that's what makes being a scout fun. The burst of emotions(and sweat) when cleaning houses to being rejected by the owner. You just feel more accomplished.
I want to feel accomplished at the end of my life. I don't want to just be passive, to wait for things to happen and then spring into action.
Oh! I'm so proud of myself. I went jogging today. However, It may be just me but it seemed like while jogging, everyone was staring at me.I don't know, just a random thought. Its not like I was jogging with no clothes on. At least, hint a simple gesture like a smile if you crossing paths with me. Not I stare into your eyes, you stare into mine, I smile, you still stare into my eyes. It seems like only the ang mohs'(for today's jog) were the only ones who smiled back, and 1 nice lady who wore a garnet pink top.
And speaking of peoples' reactions. Why does everyone express their words so freely without affirmation to their 'jumped into conclusions'. On our way back to school after collecting money, the 9 of us decided to take 900. However, in the queue, two men were blocking the paths so we couldnt move any more forward. So, we decided to cut into the 901 queue, NOT TO ENTER THEIR BUS but to pass the two men who were blocking OUR queue. So we entered the 901 queue. I went in first, then Ying Cong and Suhen entered the queue. Eilleen, Yi Shi and Jessica entered the queue with no qualms. However, as Suhen,Michael and Darrell entered the queue some unknown 30YEAR OLD FAT GUY, NOT OUR AGE, yelled "F****** B*******!" Then i looked at the guy, he was shaking his head. I smiled. I bet that as he saw us not entering the bus but instead went back to our proper queue, he would be feeling hot headed because of guilt. He has expressed his immaturity for no substantial reason.
Also, i think God is good. Don't you think so?
Wanna know why the leopard cant change its spots? Cause the leopard doesn't know God. (HEHE! GET IT? I MADE THAT MYSELF)
